Akarua Lilyvale Pinot Noir 2019
Akarua’s inaugural release of our single block pinot noir from the special Lilyvale vineyard in the Pisa subregion.
We have been farming this six-hectare vineyard in preparation for organic certification which was achieved in 2021.
Planted with clone 5 and 115 and aged in old french oak for 22 months, this wine captures the essence and complexity of Central Otago pinot with intense aromas of cinnamon spice, earthy brambles, black plum, and red cherry.
The palate is structured with plush velvet tannins, dried herbs, wet schist, and charred cedar wood leading to a well-rounded, long, lingering bake spice finish.
Akarua Lilyvale Pinot Noir 2019 is a tribute to the adventurer’s before us whom made Central Otago their home.
