A visit to Lilyvale offers the rustic charm of a barn house nestled next to a vineyard of pinot noir recently converted to organic certification.
With a view west to the towering Pisa Ranges and east to sparkling Lake Dunstan, Lilyvale is a wonderful place representing the growth of Akarua and expansion into certified organic farming. Lilyvale is a vineyard of nearly five hectares, planted to a collection of pinot noir clones, completing its conversion to organic certification in March 2021. Winemaker Andrew Keenleyside has noticed complex flavours in the stems of the Pinot noir bunches at Lilyvale, a unique expression of this site.
