By purchasing products via the Akaura Winery website you agree to and are bound by the Terms and Conditions listed on this webpage. These Terms and Conditions may be amended by Akarua wines (EDR-H New Zealand Ltd) at any time.

Akarua Winery and the Akarua Wine Club are now under the ownership of EDR-H New Zealand Ltd - a subsidiary of Compagnie Vinicole Edmond de Rothschild of France. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are consenting to remain in the Akarua Wine Club. You are also providing authority for EDR-H New Zealand Ltd to charge your credit card four times a year using the details on record in accordance with your Akarua Wine Club subscription membership.

Akarua Wine Club Membership is subject to a minimum of four purchases. By ticking the Terms and Conditions box at sign up confirmation, you are agreeing to these terms. After one year, you are free to cancel at any time up to 2 weeks prior to any shipping date, without penalty.

Under the new ownership the RUA, 25 Steps, Kolo and Akarua Sparkling wine will no longer be available for club members to purchase. We will however introduce new wines from the ranges of EDR-H New Zealand Ltd and its parent company including Champagne Barons de Rothschild, CHÂTEAU Clarke (Bordeaux) and much more. Akarua wines (EDR-H NZ) product selection is at their discretion.

Akarua wine club members will have first invitation on all new wines from the Bannockburn, Marlborough and EDR-H range in New Zealand. Please note that representation of products on our website is for descriptive and illustrative purposes only, and the actual products may vary slightly.

Due to availability and seasonal variations, we reserve the right to adjust prices, offers, goods and specifications of goods at our discretion at any time before we accept your order. In the case of any significant change, we will inform you and will not process your order without your consent.

Wine Club members have the right to skip, amend or cancel their shipment at any time. If we do not receive a response from you after four shipments, we will cancel your membership. If you do not purchase any wine after one year, we will also cancel your membership.

If you do not consent to these terms and conditions, or you do not respond to our request to agree to the new changes your membership will be cancelled and your benefits as a club member will cease. We will not charge your credit card unless you have agreed either via the email link, or by contacting Akarua wines directly.

New Ownership
By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are consenting to the transfer of your personal details from Akarua Ltd to EDR-H New Zealand Ltd.

We respect and honour the privacy of our customers. We will not at any stage sell or rent your personal information to any third party, except as permitted under the Privacy Act 2020. If you agree to sign up to our wine club or mailing list; your details will be added to our database to receive updated information from us. Any personal details collected by Akarua wines (EDR-H NZ) are stored in a private database that will only be used to support your customer relationship with us.

EDR-H New Zealand Ltd is the licensee of Akarua Winery - a New Zealand owned off license as defined in New Zealand’s Sale of Liquor Act that is legally authorised to promote, sell and deliver wine via online or mail order. It is illegal for EDR-H New Zealand Ltd to sell liquor to any persons under the age of 18. It is also illegal for anyone to purchase alcohol who is under 18 and to make a false declaration of their age in order to purchase liquor. It is against the law to use this website to purchase liquor if you are under the age of 18. By accepting our terms and conditions, you are confirming that you are over the age of 18 and that you are not purchasing wine for any persons under the age of 18.

EDR-H New Zealand Ltd will make every effort to ensure that your purchases are not faulty or defective. Under the Consumers Guarantees Act we will replace goods that are not of merchantable quality. EDR-H New Zealand Ltd accepts all payments via Visa, MasterCard. As a New Zealand owned organisation all payments are made in NZ dollars, inclusive of 15% GST. Please note we no longer accept American Express.

EDR-H New Zealand Ltd does not handle or store any of your credit cards. They are captured directly by a Payment Card Industry Date Security Standard compliant payment provider (Stripe). All payments are done securely through our bank and payment provider. Our payment providers are committed to data security and use a variety of technologies and procedures to help protect personal information from unauthorised access. We do not accept liability for any problems that may occur as a result of your use of this payment system.

EDR-H New Zealand Ltd will aim to deliver all purchases within two to five working days however we do ask that you please allow up to ten working days for quarterly Wine Club shipment deliveries. We may need to vary these terms and conditions from time to time, as well as the selection of wines and club member benefits that we offer. We will keep the terms and conditions on our website updated with amendments as they occur, and the amendment will come into force once they are posted online. We advise you to check the terms and conditions from time to time to make sure that you are aware of any changes.
